The Language of The Universe

Go a walk in nature. Or find somewhere quiet in a park for a sit down, or a window with a view of trees. Depending where we are in the world, we’ll all observe different things. When I’ve been walking in the woods recently, I see squirrels frantically scrabbling at the ground, and the bolder ones approach me in hope of nuts. The trees have are nearly bare now, having shed their leaves they stand almost silent, stripped back. The bird songs are different from Spring time walks, as different birds make their presence known and their attentions turn to being prepared for Winter, in whatever way they are called to do so, be it migration or finding warm shelter and food. And in a few months time, this will all change again as a different season approaches and nature moves into a new part of the cycle.

Nobody tells the trees or the animals what time of year it is. It’s a natural part of their cycle, they feel that change in the air and they act accordingly, without hesitation or self-doubt.

Humans were once the same. Before we had calendars telling us what month it is, what day the solstice falls upon, and clocks to tell the time, we too used the unspoken language of nature as our guide. We used the stars to navigate, used the subtle changes as one season begins to blend to the next to live by but over time, we’ve worked out how to remove ourselves from that cycle and become reliant on manmade tools to keep us informed on the weather, where we are in the year and what part of the day it is.

What is the Language of the Universe?

The Universe is billions and billions of years old. Humans are brand new in comparison! As is the invention of words as a primary source of communication. Prior to depending on words, interaction was much more complex based in body language and energy, requiring a much higher level of observation and awareness. And we listened. Not with our ears, but with our Souls. We felt the slightest shift in the energy around us and we acted.

This language is based in energy and in feeling, and we use a sense outside of the main five to tune into it. It exists within our Souls, and the way the Soul communicates is feeling. Our feelings and thoughts carry an energy of their own. That’s our own personal dialogue with the Universe.

Synchronicities

Have you ever thought of someone then bumped into them or got a text from them the next day? Or been thinking about getting a dog and a friend tells you about a neighbour whose dog just had puppies? Or thinking about writing a story about a butterfly, then all you see everywhere are butterflies or pictures of butterflies?! This is the language of the Universe in action! The Universe is living energy, as are your thoughts. When those thoughts aren’t just words but carry a weight, an emotion and an intention behind them, the Universe hears them and that’s when we start to stumble across all these funny little coincidences. And of course, we have to in a state of awareness to notice them. This is where we begin to tune into the way the Universe is communication with us. We pause, we listen and we notice.

The Language of the Spirit World

Before I started studying Mediumship, I thought it was just about seeing and hearing dead people. That was it. They walked around, said a few words, then disappeared. It was only when I started to develop that inner knowing I had, that strange feeling that there was something more inside me, desperate to express itself, that I realised that this is what the Spirit World uses to communicate. Words do not have the capacity to fully embody what those in the Spirit World want to say, so they use the unspoken language, of feelings and impressions. There’s often images and sounds as well, and as the Medium we feel in to those to understand the full story of what is being communicated so we can try to put words to it. That’s the tricky part!

Learn the Language

This language not one that can be taught, but one that is already understood deep within our Souls. When we quiet our mind through mindfulness and mediation, we begin to tune into that frequency. It’s in the “gut feeling” when we know we are right. It’s in the little nudge we feel to do something, write something. It’s our intuition. We all have intuition, we just have to get back in touch with it. Trust it. Allow it to guide us. Doubt and scepticism are what silence this delicate language. Mediums spend many years fine tuning and perfecting their communication with Spirit, but it all comes back to trust. Whether you’re a Medium or not, learning to have a trust and an understanding of the Universe is a good thing to have. We can navigate our way more smoothly when we able to understand these subtle nuances. Once we learn to listen with our Souls and trust what we “hear”, we’re on track to being in tune with the Universe.
